The Story
Dust in Our Lungs
Dust In Our Lungs is a rock opera written and produced by Sir Ivaruz, an independent artist creating narrative-driven music that blends rock, storytelling, and modern digital tools.
Dust in Our Lungs is a sweeping rock-opera epic that spans continents, cultures, and the fragile,
powerful threads that tie human destinies together.
The story begins in Mumbai, where a young Hari dreams of greatness beyond the crowded streets he calls
home. Ambitious, brilliant, and determined to control his own future, he sets his sights on America—the land
of glass towers and infinite possibility.
Guided by childhood friends Meena and Jag, fate immediately tests him.
A banking scam causes him to loose the half million he earned from selling his video game, leaving him with nothing but a vision and two loyal allies. Meena sacrifices her family’s store
to fund Hari’s dream, and together they build a startup.
Their company rises from obscurity to astonishing success, eventually taking office space in the World Trade
Center. But on September 11, 2001, everything changes. As Hari proudly takes his oath of American
citizenship, tragedy unfolds. Covered in dust, gasping for air, Hari and Meena escape with the help of
strangers and a humble priest who offers them refuge.
In the aftermath, Hari’s shaken faith is rebuilt as he witnesses miracles of survival, kindness, and the
unbreakable bonds of chosen family. He declares he has finally experienced God.
Nine years later, now a very influential entrepreneur , Hari returns to the memorial
to honor the victims. He donates a significant portion of his net worth to a charity supporting families affected by 9/11—a
gesture meant to repay the blessing of survival.
But as applause fades, a gunman confronts him, driven by hate and grief. A moment of divine intervention
spares their lives, leading to a revelation forcing him to confront
truths about love, faith and destiny.
